Amy Victoria arrested for sex with teen student

Frankly, it seems that this does happen a lot. So much so that are websites devoted to coverage of such news like Hott For Teacher and Bad Bad Teacher, which reports another recent sex scandal where 30-year old Jennifer Gardel, a teacher at Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student in her home and even in her classroom. She confessed and was in jail as recently as May 5th, but released.

Amy Victoria Beck stood in court looking dejected, her head slightly bowed and her eyes either closed or fixed on the floor as Judge Patrick J. Hegarty passed sentence. She had pleaded no contest in March to one count each of unlawful sexual intercourse and committing a lewd act on a child.

Sexual Misconduct is such a large problem that the website KSL.com claims its the number one reason why teachers are forced to surrender their licenses.

Procter And Gamble Battles Rumors

CINCINNATI -- In honor of all the moms out there, you can win a chance to reunite with yours.

Proctor and Gamble kicked off itS "Thank You Mom Program" on Thursday. They invited all employees to bring their mothers to the Cincinnati headquarters for a celebration of Mothers Day, and to announce the campaign.

If you log onto Thank You Mom, you can write a 100 word or less expression of why you and your mom should be brought together. There will be 30 finalists every month through November.

Proctor and Gamble's Cheri McMaster explained how the program works. "Fifteen winners will be chosen based on the voting of your family and friends. You will get a travel voucher to go see you mom or bring your mother to come see you. You will also get a portable video camera to capture that awesome moment, because we want moms to be thanked in person."

Proctor and Gamble started the program in the spirit of the Olympic games. The company payed $3,000 for Olympic athlete's moms to attend the winter games in Vancouver.

Lawrence Taylor charged with rape

After seeming to have put his troubled past behind him, former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor again found himself in a courtroom in this small Hudson Valley town Thursday.

Ramapo authorities said the Pro Football Hall of Famer faces up to four years in prison after being arrested and charged with raping a 16-year-old girl who authorities say was beaten by a Bronx pimp, then delivered to Taylor's hotel room.

Taylor paid the girl $300 for sex, authorities said. En route to the hotel, she sent a text message to her uncle, who alerted the New York Police Department. The NYPD arrested the suspected pimp, Rasheed Davis, an ex-convict on parole. The NYPD informed Ramapo police, who woke up Taylor and arrested him in his room at a nearby Holiday Inn at 3:55 Thursday morning. The girl, who was reported missing in March, has been reunited with her uncle, authorities said.

Harry Connick Jr.'s wife Story & Steamy Photo

The "American Idol" mentor recounted how he had been nervous about performing at the late singing legend's 75th birthday and flubbed his first attempt. Later, when he confronted Sinatra in an elevator, Ol' Blue Eyes only had eyes for Goodacre.

Apparently, Sinatra took her face between his hands, said "You're beautiful" and then kissed her on the lips.

It's not difficult to see why Frankie would have been so taken with Connick's wife. She was a Victoria's Secret model back in the '80s and '90s after all.

She also gave us one of the funniest moments on "Friends" when Chandler (Matthew Perry) was stuck in an ATM vestibule with Goodacre, playing herself.

Don't get any ideas though. They couple is happily married (wouldn't you be?) and have three daughters together.

Triborough & RFK Bridge update

The RFK Bridge was closed late Wednesday evening after an abandoned U-Haul truck sparked alarm. Formerly known as the Triborough Bridge, police were alerted to the scene after a toll booth operated noticed a man in dark clothing running from the vehicle, leaving it abandoned. The toll booth operator investigated the scene and moved in towards the truck.

The closer he got to the vehicle, the stronger he could smell gasoline. Growing concerned he contacted authorities.

As a precaution, police closed the RFK Bridge in both directions for several hours. The truck was thoroughly checked by the bomb squad, including the use of x-ray technology to scan the vehicle. The bomb squad deemed the vehicle safe. The truck is was moved and the bridge was reopened.

RFK Bridge Closed by Abandoned UHaul Truck! Less than a week after the car bombing attempt in Times Square, the RFK bridge that connects Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx is closed because of an abandoned UHaul with Arizona plates. The abandoned vehicle smells of gasoline, and Hazmat and Police are assessing the details.

Many in New York are concerned. After all, there was a bombing attempt this weekend. A Nissan Pathfinder with an amateurish bomb was found and taken away from the area before anything could happen.

Not much information is available about the RFK Bridge closure, but we will keep you informed of the situation.

Ernie Harwell story to music

Longtime umpire Joe West paid tribute to legendary broadcaster Ernie Harwell in the most heartfelt way he knows how: The "Cowboy" wrote Ernie a song.

West, known as Cowboy Joe for his love of country music and the fact that he's released several albums, co-wrote "A Tribute to Ernie Harwell" with Bill Slayback and Fred Rodgers and sang the song, which tracks the life and times of Harwell, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 92, while tracing his own upbringing in North Carolina with parents who fell in love with baseball through Harwell's broadcasts.

"When the Dodgers were in Brooklyn and the little boys dreamed," West sings, "Ernie Harwell told their story long before the TV screens. Mom and Dad watched the radio as if they could see a ballpark in their minds where the grass was always green."

Ernie Harwell died Tuesday night, ending his battle with cancer at the age of 92, but his voice and spirit will live on forever in the ears and minds of many.

Tears were shed in the press box at Joe Louis Arena while the Red Wings were playing the San Jose Sharks when the news spread. As cynical and callous as reporters can be, this story was tough to treat as it was just another death because Harwell treated anyone he ever met like a friend.

Yours truly was one of the lucky ones.

I'll miss Harwell's greeting "HELLO! Larry!" on the phone and in person and hearing him say "Phi Alpha!" in a nod to our brotherhood in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

My first vivid memory of Harwell other than listening to him call Detroit Tigers games on the radio growing up in Ann Arbor, Mich. was during the mid-1990s at Tiger Stadium.
